To lay all coatings made of natural material, you need to prepare the surface of the floor. Thus, in the process of preparing for the flooring flooring, it is necessary to level the base, cleaned of traces of previously used material (wax, paint, glue), they can become an obstacle to clutch. Swap all the cracks, holes and irregularities, processing the seams of the screeds with a primer. The surface must be dry.
If the cork flooring is placed over the old coating, then a thick plywood or chipboard should be put on it, cover it with an alignment and polish it.
Put a cork flooring with absolute humidity of a concrete or cement base of not higher than 25%. If this indicator increases, then it is necessary to perform waterproofing, that is, put on top any material that passes moisture (polyethylene film). To make additional heat – and sound insulation, put a layer of cork, roll or leaf on the film, which should be 2 millimeters thick. In order to prepare the floor surface, the optimum air temperature should be approximately 20 degrees. In order for styling to be more successful, it is better to hold cork plates in the repair room for about a day. You can store the cork for a long time in a dry and well -ventilated room, with air humidity no higher than 65%, otherwise the material will deteriorate.
To fix the cork plates on the basis, use a special glue. It should be applied to the tile with velor roller or gear spatula. Stick cork plates should be after 30 minutes. First you need to mark the markings. The guide lines are drawn perpendicular to each other, passing through the center of the room. In relation to the wall, the lines can pass diagonally or in parallel.
Then the layout of the tile begins. The process must be started with the center of the room, towards the wall, without gluing. If small intervals or discrepancies appear during laying tiles without glue, they can be easily fixed by shifting the tiles again. As soon as all the tiles are correctly incorporated, you should start laying on glue. First glue a small area, then tap it with a rubber hammer and roll it with a roller.
After some time, stratification may occur between tiles. To do this, leave the gaps along the walls of about 4 mm. Then they can be closed with a baseboard. The skirting board should be attached to the wall slightly higher than the laid flooring. So you will avoid floor deformation.
At the end of the work, the excess glue should be removed using the solvent. To dry the coating, must pass the day. Then you need to clean the coating using special compositions and apply the protective layer. Cover the cork floor with varnish should be 2-2.5 days later.
No effort is required to care for the cork floor. You can wash it with a rag using a detergent. In the case of severe surface pollution, you need to polish the floor with a fine -grained abrasive skin and cover areas with wax or varnish. To make an update, you should remove the old varnish with a polished machine and apply polyurethane varnish.
