Construction of berths and pierces: main technologies

The word “pier” in translation from English means “pier on poles”. At its core, the pier is a hydraulic structure that acts far into the reservoir, and is not limited only by its coast. The piers can be of different types in their purpose. And the process of building such structures is a real science fiction and a rather difficult thing, requiring certain skills and skills. What technologies are used in the construction of pierces and the construction of berths on the water?

Two types of pier are usually distinguished. The first is intended directly for mooring water vehicles, we are used to seeing such pierces and berths in the ports. Another type of pier – domestic purpose. It is intended for fishing and rest, mooring small boats with manual control. Such not too cumbersome piers can be built independently, for example, in its country house if the site goes to the reservoir. Now, after you are used to watching Dr. House in the evenings, you will have to change your way of activity to more active. You can meet the dawn and see sunsets from the pier or your own yacht or boat.

The pier can be constructed stationary, on pillars or stumps, while it will be motionless and very reliable. The surface of the pier can be wooden, however, black wood boards need special processing to prevent decay and destruction from moisture. Ideal wood for such hydraulic structures are tropical breeds – they have oil and resins that prevent decay.

There is another option for building pierces and berths – these are floating structures. Such piers are assembled from light plastic modules, which are perfectly held on the surface of the water. At the same time, such piers are quite stable and reliable, light and durable in operation. They can be safely built even for “parking” of water motorcycles and small boats.
